To be honest I have never been a fan of winged animals; they just terrified me! But our experience yesterday exceeded my expectations and I now have a new appreciation for these beautiful creatures.
From the moment we walked in we were in awe. Owls were perched all over the cafe, some were higher up and some sitting right next to us. The staff was super friendly and helpful and you could just tell they really loved the owls. After a few quick instructions on the proper owl etiquette (use whisper voices; to pet, lightly touch the top of their heads using your index finger; no flash photography; no sudden movements), we were free to roam around the cafe and with assistance, handle the owls of our choice.

The environment was very relaxing with soft background music to promote "healing hour" and "cozy time", which allowed us to sit and spend a few minutes holding our owls. Each one had a name and quite the personality to go with it. Some of their facial expressions reminded me of Daisy...and myself! 😂

Me with Squirrel, a Tropical Screech Owl. We were instructed to loop the string around our thumb
in the event the owl tried to fly away. Squirrel just missed my arm and pooped a little onto the table! |

We were told Monjya & Whitebait,
both Barn Owls, owl best friends. |
Monjya seemed a bit nervous (probably picked up on my vibes) but I lucked out again, as she just missed my arm when taking a pee. She started off on my hand and eventually made her way up my arm and onto my head...
Until next time, That's Owl Folks!
