Gamcheon Cultural Village

This morning we trekked to the Gamcheon Cultural Village, known as the "Machu Picchu of Busan" or the "Santorini of Korea".

The village is formed by houses built in a staircase fashion on the foothills of a coastal mountain. The main alleys were decorated with murals and sculptures, made for a space filled with creativity, vibrancy and plenty of photo ops.

The Little Prince

Being a tourist is tiring.

For lunch we ate at the #1 Trip Advisor recommendation for a local meal, Songjeong Samdae Gukbop  for Dwaejigukbap, pork soup with rice.

Dinner was at a Korean BBQ spot and in the same vicinity where we were last night. We thoroughly enjoyed dining among the locals and just having a good time on a Friday night (after a few beers and soju shots in!) 😜

Yeah, that's the Asian glow you see right there.

We ended the night with a little shopping. Kiel needed to purchase a new adapter for the laptop so after much searching, we finally hit up Lotte, which is South Korea's department store. From floors of clothing, home goods, to eateries, beauty, and a movie theater, we found the tech section. Two gentleman helped us out (when you are shopping, the retail associate just stands really close and looks at you), and as we were checking out they gave me a complementary perfume. Maybe they do this with all of their customers, but we had a feeling I got a little special treatment.

Of course being in the capitol of beauty/skin care, I had to purchase a few face masks when stumbling upon a face shop called Innisfree. It's super affordable and fun, even though Kiel is not amused. Hey, he's been getting his meat fix x10! Until tomorrow...!
