Ubud Love

We landed in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia from Singapore on the 17th of August.

We found our driver at the airport and rode almost two hours to the hotel where we were instantly greeted with smiles and fresh juice (this has been a common thing in Asia). We happened to arrive on Indonesia's Independence Day and the hotel knew we were there on our honeymoon, so the staff immediately insisted we dress up in traditional Balinese clothing and have a photo shoot. We were pretty worn out after traveling all day, but we politely obliged and had a bit of fun while three different people shot their cameras at our awkwardly smiling faces.

It's safe to say we really liked Ubud/Bali. We met the friendliest people there on our whole trip. Everyone seemed so accommodating and polite, including other travelers which was a nice surprise from most of what we've been encountering.

Ubud, which was about a 10 minute walk away from our resort, was full of restaurants and craft stalls where the sellers don't tout, but only exchange some friendly haggling if you seem interested in buying something. There were also tons of boutiques filled with colorful jewelry, clothing, and resort wear (which of course I loved).

We spent two nights here  and it was fantastic! Probably some of the best hotel/resort food we've had too.

Lovely honeymoon set up!

Our first night: Pig Roast dinner and Balinese dancing. Despite a little rain, everyone had a good time.

The pig! :( Which I did NOT eat...

Hotel Infinity Pool!

In downtown Ubud...

Sorry for the photo SPAM of me. Kiel doesn't like his picture taken
and I need to capture all the moments 😝
Crafts, home goods, jewelry, clothing, knick knacks at the street markets!
Relaxing at the resort!
