First we stopped at the ticket office where our photos were taken and printed on day passes. The woman working there thought I was half-Cambodian - that's a first! Then we hopped back in our tuk tuk and felt like we were playing Mario Cart... racing alongside other little tourists in tuk tuks to see who could get to the temple first!
It seems to be "a thing" for tourists to go see the sunrise, so a few days prior we had debated whether or not to do it or just visit in the afternoon. But despite the lack of sunrise (it was pretty overcast), and all of the tourists in elephant pants (everyone wears these stretchy printed pants sold at the markets), we'd say it was definitely worth it to see and experience.
After Angkor Wat, our driver took us to Angkor Thom (Baphuon Temple and Bayon Temple), Ta Keo, and Ta Prohm Temple, which are all in close vicinity of one another in the Angkor Archaeological Park.
Ta Prohm is best known for its picturesque trees and where part of the movie, Tomb Raider was filmed. It was filled with Chinese tourists who are THE WORST (sorry, just didn't say it earlier), but like the other temples, it was an amazing site and a great end to our tour.
