The Trick Eye Museum and Seoul Tower

On Friday we were super tourists- interacting and posing at the Trickeye Museum, before scouting out more of the best chicken and views of the city...

The Trickeye Museum was filled with paintings created using techniques called 'trompe l'oeil', which gives each 2D art piece the illusion of being in 3D. We downloaded an app that allowed us to view ourselves in Augmented Reality (AR) through our phones. So basically all of the photos here we were able to watch as an animated video in real time and then save. The pictures don't really do the experience justice, but it was pretty neat and fun stuff! Here's AR video of Kiel (he can't see the dragon moving from where he is sitting):

We went into the Ice Museum after where there were a lot of cool ice sculptures, an ice slide I went down, and a lot of yelling tourists. Apparently they were cold.

Being a tourist is exhausting.
After the museums, we hit the street for a snack. I, of course, got a ridiculous ice cream and Kiel got the most perfect egg bread.

For a late lunch we tracked down Kyochon, because we (Kiel) just had to try their famous fried chicken. We ordered their signature soy garlic wings and they sure did not disappoint! They were the most perfect, crispy chicken wings we've ever had.

Fun fact: A serving of 5 Original soy garlic wings is the equivalent (in calories) to one wing at a fast food restaurant.

After lunch we took a subway ride and walked through Zaemiro, Seoul's Cartoon Street, and eventually made our way up to Seoul Tower by way of the Namsan cable car. We spent about three hours at the tower people watching, walking around the observatory, and enjoying the views with a tub of popcorn before waiting for the sun to set.

Love locks
I'll leave this right here so we remember the time I beat Kiel not once,
but twice at this game in the tower plaza.

San Francisco and New York!

Dropping off our postcards from the top of the tower!
My view from the bathroom 🙌

On our way home, we strolled back through Myeong-dong. It wasn't as crazy as it seemed the first time, or maybe we've just become accustomed to the noise!

We've seen a lot of people wearing NY Yankee baseball caps and we think it's supposed to be a trendy/cool thing to wear out here.

Look! It's the creepy foot!

Pretending to fawn over an Asian calendar boy.

This guy at night.
We made it back to our hotel after a 10 hour day, and then slept for the next 10 hours!
