Greetings from our final stop in Viet nam - Ho Chi Minh City, aka Saigon. The city of motorbikes, French colonial architecture, and (more) delicious food!
Upon arrival we were told we had to move from the hotel we originally booked to their sister location around the corner. Things weren't off to a good start, but we've enjoyed the past few days here in Saigon.
Overall, I'd say Viet nam isn't our favorite country. But we've grown to like each city we've visited and we find something that ultimately surprises or charms us.

The War Remnants Museum was quite heavy/graphic and depressing, yet worth seeing and learning about the atrocities of the Vietnam War.

Independence Palace (Reunification Palace) was the former home of South Vietnam's president during the Vietnam War. |

We each picked two places we wanted to check out for dinner while we're here. Once again, Kiel was in BBQ meat heaven...
The Cu Chi Tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during combat in the Vietnam War. Today we viewed some of the tunnels and the crazy trap doors that were made.

After the tunnel tour, our guide brought us to a family home to get a little taste of Vietnam living.
These piglets could squeal! And then I felt bad we ate pork belly the night before...😞 |
We ended the night with dinner at Hum, a full on vegetarian restaurant and of course, my choice. Kiel loved it. 😏
Meals in Saigon are a bit pricier than what we're used to in Viet nam. We're averaging around $30 for dinner here compared to $9 in Hanoi and Hoi An. And dinner out in SF would be at least $50. I guess it's all relative!
We've got one more full day here and then it's off to Cambodia. Night!
