"Art challenges technology, and technology inspires art"
Yesterday we went to the Dongdaemun Design Plaza to see the special exhibition, Pixar: 30 Years of Animation. The DDP complex is clearly a neat looking venue, and we (especially Kiel) really enjoyed the Pixar exhibition.
We snapped this picture before learning that no photo's were allowed. Oops! The exhibition featured several different works including ideas/sketches drawn by artists and handcrafted models, showcasing how technology and art have combined and developed over the years to create animated films.
After the museum, Kiel noticed there was a ShakeShack across the street sooo...of course we had to go! It was actually my first ShakeShack burger and it was quite good! The woman sitting next to us was Japanese asked us (in English) if we lived here and could recommend a good taxi service. Are we starting to look like locals?!
Sorry to say we see this everywhere, but this was the first time a girl had a mirror that size with her. I guess when you live in the plastic surgery capital of the world, you feel the need to always check your face.
And how appropriately named when the streets are filled with shops of skincare products!
For dinner we popped into a random Korean BBQ restaurant. We aren't quite sure what the dish is on the right (I ordered tofu and what we got was definitely meat), but it was pretty tasty and washed down with a bit of Soju!
This morning I had Isaac Toast for about the third time on this trip. It's a chain restaurant in S. Korea, but their toasty sandwiches are the perfect start to the day (or as an afternoon snack). I usually get the Bulgogi MVP which also has egg, pickles, slaw and special sauce on it.
We didn't really have anything major planned for the rest of the day, so we booked the next few weeks: Hong Kong and Viet Nam!
